Google make important algorithm changes

Google want to make it so the most relevant results are shown in their searches, Google have always said that spamming a website with keywords will be frowned up and not helped in the SERPs. Google have also said that a website that is dependent on its back links could be affected by the recent change in it algorithms.

White hat SEO relies on creating quality content that works within the parameters set by search engines in order to optimise a website for both users and search engines alike. Many companies will be affected by these algorithm changes and need to adopt the white hat SEO techniques.

Over optimised websites could plummet

Google’s algorithm change will affect sites that have been overly optimised, things that could affect a websites ranking are 1, Too many back links to a single website. 2, Content that does not give the end user the answer to what they are looking for. 3, Spamming a website with keywords in order to try to trick GoogleBot.

Google crack down on black hat SEO

Google have always warned people about using black hat SEO techniques, now Matt Cutts an engineer at Google has spoken out saying "We are trying to make GoogleBot smarter, make our relevance better, and we are also looking for those who abuse it, like too many keywords on a page, or exchange way too many links or go well beyond what you normally expect." Basically, Google will be dealing with black hat SEOs in a firmer manner by demoting or removing sites that have used inappropriate SEO techniques.
